You asked, and I listened! I have received so many requests to pair two produce items together. Naturally, I have a purpose in mind: to provide the most nutrient dense and healing nourishment without compromising the taste. Here it is! Whole, pureed blueberries retain the fiber and complex array of vitamins – there is a reason why they are affectionately referred to as “ninja berries.” Beets are quite possibly the healthiest vegetable to detoxify the liver. (Healthy livers equal healthy moods and robust vitality!) Both flavors combine for a refreshingly clean elixir. I chose this flavor for the nutritional and medicinal possibilities.

Blueberries

  • among the most nutrient-dense berries (rich in fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and manganese)
  • believed to have one of the highest antioxidant levels of all fruits and vegetables
  • antioxidants protect your body from free radicals, aging, and diseases such as cancer
  • reduce DNA damage and system-wide inflammation

Beets

  • nutrient dense and energy boost
  • water-soluble antioxidants, betalains, have chemo-preventive abilities against some cancer cell lines (betalains are thought to be free radical scavengers that help find and destroy unstable cells in the body)
  • support weight loss
  • may slow the progression of dementia
  • improve exercise stamina
  • great source of potassium which helps nerves and muscles function properly
  • natural source of folate
  • antioxidant betaine prevents fatty deposits in the liver and protects the liver from toxins
  • help to lower blood pressure and cholesterol
